Nutrition is such an important part of the triathlon jigsaw and the team were unanimous in choosing Clif Bar as their preferred brand. It goes without saying that their products taste good but their company history and philosophy also clicks with the team. Started by Gary Erickson in his Berkeley, California kitchen in 1992 as a reaction to his dissatisfaction with other products available at the time, they are now one of the biggest and certainly the best tasting range of energy products on the market.
The iconic Clif Bars themselves are perfect for long training rides while the newer products like the Clif Bloks, Double Xpresso flavour caffeinated gels and the Builders protein recovery bars are all to be found in the kit bags of the team athletes.
A great taste, predominantly organic ingredients and a socially aware corporate ethos meant that our shortlist of potential nutrition providers had only one name on it.
