Training camp in the French Alps

In June 2012, most of the team headed across to the French Alps for a week of training. It was an incredible trip, hosted by Piet Hein and Eva at their new purpose built training base Chalet Le 4, and a good chance to all spend some time together.

The cycling was as spectacular and tough as expected, the iconic Col de La Colombière on the doorstep was climbed several times from both directions. The swimming was magic – a choice of endless pool at the chalet, heated outdoor pool in the village or sparkling open water swimming in Lake Annecy. And the running was epic, 2 hour trail runs up into the mountains with views for miles across the valley, just the clinking of cow bells for company.

The team returned to the UK enthused and feeling super strong for the season ahead. Everyone vowed to be back soon, possibly for a biathlon winter training camp in the New Year.

Many thanks to our sponsors for their support for the trip, particularly California Raisins, without their support the trip would not have been possible.
