Team Freespeed Wimbleball

Four podiums at Wimbleball

The toughest 70.3 in the world is how this UK race has been described and in the lead up to the race torrential rain had the athletes fretting about choice of wheels.

On the day though perfect conditions greeted them as they made their way down to the swim start and with a full representation of four team athletes, Team Freespeed were hoping for some good results.

Better than expected swims from Stuart, Declan and Tim put them in good positions from the start and Stuart capitalised returning to T2 as first amateur, a position he held all the way to the finish. Dec had some ground to make up but stormed through the field on the run and finished a couple of places behind Stu, whilst Tim had a very solid race to come third in his age group.

Jenny had swum and biked well but still had a fairly large gap to make up on the leading amateur on the run. Overtaking her with just a mile to spare Jenny completed the amateur win double for Freespeed with all four athletes on the age group podium.

All four athletes also booked their tickets to Vegas in September.
