This weekend sees four of the Team Freespeed Virgin Active athletes racing at half ironman distance.
On Saturday, Tim and Sam will be racing The Vitruvian in Rutland. This is an iconic race, regularly voted the best of the year by athletes, and is run over a tough undulating bike course with a flat, scenic run around the reservoir. Whilst Tim and Sam are in the middle of their Kona build up and seeing this race as a stepping stone they will both be hoping for confidence boosting performances.
Meanwhile, in the scorching heat of Las Vegas, Richard and Matt are looking forward to testing their form at the 70.3 World Championships. Both have a chance of a podium if their races go to plan so we’ll be following online with interest.
Richard opted not to try for Kona this year so for him this is his A race of the season – having spoken to him before getting on the plane he is fit, focused and ready.
